Posts: 2497 | It is back to basics here. What you must take into account is that unless you have unlimited cash to hand, whatever system you buy into, you will be stuck with.
So you have the latest camera body and all of the top of the range lenses and have invested £25,000 in kit. Now try to sell it. Cars depreciate. So, too, do cameras. Very rapidly. Never buy the Mk 1 of anything until it has been very extensively tested. (This applies to the Mk 11 and 111 as well.)
Now if anybody really wanted to buy a low mileage 1Ds Mk lll and Prime L lenses, I know where there are some available. This 1Ds Mk lll was the top of Canon's range - the flagship, but it still had to have the shutter replaced under warranty at around a thousand exposures.
