Another astonishing series from Nikon....the D800 with 36.3 megapixels in full frame format .
While the Canon 1DX comes with 18.1 mega pixel , 12 frames per second and new CMOS sensor ,dual digic 5+ processor for high speed processing....Amazing!!!!!

If the new Nikon bodies work OK I might get one.
But after my Nikon experience on QC so far I will wait until they are well tested.
Never had a problem with Canon kit though, just none of the new offerings appeal to me.
If Canon had launched the 200-400L I would not be messing about with Nikon kit though.....

It is back to basics here. What you must take into account is that unless you have unlimited cash to hand, whatever system you buy into, you will be stuck with.

So you have the latest camera body and all of the top of the range lenses and have invested £25,000 in kit. Now try to sell it. Cars depreciate. So, too, do cameras. Very rapidly. Never buy the Mk 1 of anything until it has been very extensively tested. (This applies to the Mk 11 and 111 as well.)

Now if anybody really wanted to buy a low mileage 1Ds Mk lll and Prime L lenses, I know where there are some available. This 1Ds Mk lll was the top of Canon's range - the flagship, but  it still had to have the shutter replaced under warranty at around a thousand exposures.
